Welcome to Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts! I am very honored to be the new President of this award-winning school. It is an exciting year for all of us as we celebrate 20 years of providing exceptional training and mentoring to students in the culinary discipline. Since 1997, we have educated over 3,000 graduates who now work in the industry here in Vancouver, across North America, and around the globe.
Our campus is situated in one of the safest and most livable cities in the world. Located at heart of the city on Granville Island, Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts offers our students an opportunity to learn, work, live and eat in one of the world’s most culturally diverse food cities. As a small school, we pride ourselves in providing a strong student-centric culinary foundation with personalized support and attention.
Food is my passion and it has been a defining part of my life. Throughout my career I have been fortunate to be able to explore the many avenues made available to me as a result of my formal culinary training. I have been a cook, a private chef, the chef/owner of my own restaurant and the founder of two successful food companies involved in the production of healthy, convenient foods that have received numerous national and global awards for taste and innovation.
Together with my wife, Sylvia, we are very excited to be part of the special team of educators that is at the core of Pacific Institute of the Culinary Arts. A team that is focused on insuring that each and every student receives expert training with encouragement and thoughtful professional guidance. We strive to always develop, expand, and innovate to create lifetime opportunities for our students. I look forward to continuing the school’s mission of providing the highest quality hands-on training, teaching nutrition and sustainable practices, and most of all preparing our students for dynamic careers in the culinary world.
