For the second consecutive year, a PICA student was awarded the opportunity to represent Canada in the International Student Tapas Competition in Valladolid, Spain. The competition, which brings in culinary students from around the world is part of a national tapas competition, where Spain’s top Chefs battle it out for tapas triumph. Culinary graduate, and current pastry student, Whitney W., spent a week in the historic town of Valladolid touring the local castles, restaurants and of course, plating her Scallop & Quail Tapas for the judges.
Though she didn’t win, just being able to compete was honour enough, “It was amazing.” Whitney says, “The people, the food…this whole experience has made me really excited to travel and see where my new career can take me.”
