Private Classes

Treat yourself to a private custom designed cooking class with one of our dedicated Chef Instructors or gather your friends for a day or evening that everyone will remember.

Theme Cooking Classes

Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts is pleased to offer the following theme classes to our casual gourmet clients:

2-Hour Private Cooking Class

A typical cooking class consists of hands-on participation by you and your guests in the preparation of a 3 course menu under the tutelage of one of our European-trained Chef Instructors. The cooking class is 2 hours in duration followed by lunch or dinner in the Institute's fine dining Restaurant where you and your guests will enjoy the 'fruits of your labour'. All menus are custom-designed based on your preferences, seasonal ingredients, dietary restrictions, allergies, etc.

Cost:

• One person: $200.00 plus GST
• Groups of 2-5: $150.00 per person plus GST
• Groups of 6 or more: $120.00 per person plus GST

Participants will also receive recipes from the class, a Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts souvenir apron as well as enjoy their creations made in class. 

Cooking class ideas include but are not limited to the following:

• Sauces, Stocks and Soups
• Knife Skills
• Hors D'oeuvres
• Meat, Fish, Poultry
• Sushi
• Pastry
• Vegetarian or Vegan Cuisine

Jack and Jill Shower

Tired of the same old bridal shower and bachelor party? How about organizing a couples shower, commonly know as a 'Jack and Jill' party. We can accommodate a challenge such as the Iron Chef or Apprentice Theme (guys vs. gals) or a 2-hour cooking class. Minimum party size is 10 guests.

Teen Birthday Parties

Don't forget to book your teen's next birthday party at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts!

The food, the instruction, and the fun are all included in a 2-hour hands-on party! The teens will prepare a gourmet 3-course menu custom-designed by the 'birthday teen' . 

Cost: $500.00 plus GST for up to 10 teens.

Family Cooking Classes

Culinary - Two Hour Family Cooking Class for 4 is $500.00 plus GST

Baking and/or Pastry - Three Hour Family Cooking Class for 4 is $700.00 plus GST

All classes are custom-designed based on what your family members wish to learn.

Additional hours can be purchased at a cost of $50.00 per person plus GST.

Taste and Market Tour

A 1.5 hour tour of Granville Island Public Market with one of our Chef Instructors. Learn about produce, meats and fish selections with a professional and then return to the Institute and enjoy a gourmet 3-course menu in our fine dining restaurant prepared by our Advanced Culinary and Baking & Pastry Arts students.

Cost: $75.00 per person plus GST

Chef's Table

Imagine being invited to sit at the chef's personal table at BC's top culinary school, as well as meet the up-and-coming chefs of tomorrow. You will be provided with your very own backstage pass to observe the chef's realm as you've never seen it before and please your palette with a custom-designed gourmet 5-course tasting menu. [Maximum 10] 

Cost: $85.00 per person plus GST

Please note (for all above classes):

• We require a minimum of one month's notice for all bookings.
• Private classes are available Monday to Saturday (excluding statutory holidays) in the morning, afternoon or evening, based on availability. Class date and time will be arranged based on your schedule as well as the availability of our Chef Instructors.
• Full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept all major credit cards, cash or debit.
• Prepaid classes are non-refundable, however transferable should you need to change the date.  
• Gift cards or certificates are available in any denomination.
